For many gamers, this is the stuff dreams are made of. The?2012 Twitch & Alienware Scholarship Program?(with assistance from SteelSeries) is being offered to ?encourage the most active and successful gamers in pursuing higher education while continuing to compete or participate in their own gaming communities at the highest levels.? In the pursuit of this goal, the scholarship program is awarding 5 $10,000 scholarships to recipients.
To be eligible for this scholarship you must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Furthermore, you must demonstrate a high level of achievement in your game of choice. This can include (but is not limited to):
- High in-game rankings
- Top tournament placements
- Regular game streaming on Twitch.TV
- Regular involvement with games or gaming groups
- Other significant involvement in gaming as judged by judging committee
To apply, complete the application at?www.twitch.tv/p/scholarship?along with sending in an?official high school or college transcript showing GPA, proof of gaming accolades (links, screenshots, etc),?1 minute or less video highlighting why you love games and your gaming achievements, and 800 words or less summary of ?Why you feel you should receive the TwitchTV/Alienware Scholarship?.
